  1. My ex-husband!
Naw, that is way cuter than my ex-husband and unlike my ex-husband undoubtedly has a function in the ecosphere.

  2. ANSWER – AVERT YOUR EYES IF YOU STILL WANT TO GUESS!

Several of you are right because as it turns out, this animal goes by many names. I first came across it as “Mexican Walking Fish” but in fact, it is apparently best known as an axolotl. It is a salamander, not a fish. I do not know the definitive answer as to whether the one in the photo is an albino.

Here is a tidbit from a website about axolotls:

The name “Axolotl” comes from the Aztec language, “Nahuatl”. One of the most popular translations of the name connects the Axolotl to the god of deformations and death, Xolotl, while the most commonly accepted translation is “water-dog” (from “atl” for water, and “xolotl”, which can also mean dog).

And, good news for everyone who finds these creatures irresistably cute: they are commonly kept as pets. So run out and get one (or five) and let us know how your axolotl afficianado life develops.

  3. I’m allergic to beer and can have only one once in a while. A couple of nights ago I enjoyed a beer after a hot day – that’s just what my dog looked like! Except he had more fur…

  4. My friend owns one of these and they make awesome pets. Her guy begs for food and will let you touch him. I’m not allowed to feed him anymore because everytime he begs I give in!
