  1. I don’t know anything about Twitter but it looks like HSUS is giving the post some sort of thumbs up.

  2. You have the right to do with your money as you will, but when animal welfare advocates fight from within, the only winners are the puppy mill breeders and others who exploit animals.

    1. I stand with those who advocate for the right of every shelter pet to live. I oppose all others. That includes HSUS, ASPCA and PETA. Puppy mills aren’t “winning” anything because I refuse to buy into the “we’re all on the same team” myth.

    2. When animal welfare advocates don’t stand up to the HSUS et all for their failings, the animals lose.

If a national group has lost their way (and be honest – they have), then they need to be called on the carpet for it. Loudly and repeatedly. Otherwise, only the status quo is served.

    3. Well I guess it’s all good since HSUS is an animal RIGHTS advocate……

And if they were an animal WELFARE advocate then they are still suckish…..

AND I am with Shirley….we most definitely are NOT all on the same team!

  3. I think the word about these national organizations is getting out to the people who used to contribute to them.

  4. Ugh…I agree with what someone above said about the puppy mills winning. I bet they lobby them for rights like corporations lobby our government for tax breaks.

  5. They tide has turned. They *have* to like No-Kill to stay in existence (and keep getting donations! Since the movement is only gaining traction). Besides, after Michael Vick, their credibility is shot. But seeing this post was a great way to end the day!

  6. It seems a lot of the big boys have underestimated the power of the free flow of information and social media. Country governments, the largest banks et… Seems our Government has caught on and is now trying to gain more control over the internet in the name of “National Security”. Equal to the inherent danger of restructuring our economy and keeping Governemt in check is preserving internet freedom.
