  1. I have been seeing these horror stories about PETA for a while now. As a former supporter of PETA, I’m horrified. The organization does do a lot of good, however, all the good deeds will not nullify this egregious barbarism. If PETA cannot handle the dog and cat population in a loving and compassionate manner, the organization should excuse itself from involvement with these species.

    1. PeTA doesn’t do loving and compassionate. I took an interest in them back in the 80s, and left for a number of reasons – but the last straw was a case when hundreds of ‘rescued’ battery chickens were killed for no more reason than it would’ve been troublesome to find a place to house them all. And this is generally what they do with ‘rescued’ livestock to this day, even though there are now far more sanctuaries set up to house them.

Here’s what I think about PeTA: Whatever the question asked, their only answer is ‘death.’

      1. No, I went to meetings, but I never volunteered. I’d gone back to school at the time – I first heard about PeTA on campus, come to that – and also fostered for the SFSPCA. So I had a full plate and a heap of kittens underfoot. I wasn’t very interested in passing out pamphlets either, which seemed to be most of what they asked. Well, that and money, of which I had next to none.
