A Lick of History

In 1886, the U. S. president was Grover Cleveland. He was 49 years old and had married his 21 year old ward, Frances Folsom, in June of that year. Everybody remembers him as the only president to serve two non-consecutive terms but nobody seems to mention the groomer thing.

  1. They elide the groomer aspect, but do sometimes mention he was the only president to get married while president, after having been the only bachelor president.
