There has been a recall of Phenobarbital after bottles with 30mg tablets were mislabeled as 15mg tablets, posing a risk of overdose for pets:

Also — awhile back, Shirley linked to a short account of the mass killing of England’s pets in the week after war with Germany was declared in 1939. A book has just been published about it. An estimated 400,000 pets were killed in that week. Here’s a review:

Heard about grants going out from Maddie’s Fund yesterday and got a little depressed.
I finished this recently and it’s just a feel good share. The youtube version lacks the quality of the original, but you get the idea.

Sorry for the quiet week. I’ve recently gone back to work and meshing that with keeping up the blog is taking me a little bit to sort out. My goal is to get back into it next week. In the meantime, some weirdo in VA (HQ of PETA, also weirdos, just a coincidence, prolly):
