I hate to say it but bulldog breeders have apparently never been right. Structurally unsound doesn’t even begin to cover the bulldog. Exhibit A, two photos of this unfortunate animal:

Yikes.
We had a bulldog. She definitely LOOKED healthier than these dogs, and a lot of the bulldogs we see today; her proportions were not all wacked. But her health was still terrible. Skin problems – the worst! and joint problems, she was just sick all the time. I don’t think I would get another standard bulldog.

The show judges could have helped this situation by not awarding prizes to these mutants but no. Now here we are.
