A Lick of History

Isinglass was a famous bay thoroughbred racehorse in England around the turn of the century. He was the winner of the English Triple Crown in 1893 and records he set went unbroken for decades.

In the December 27, 1902 issue of Country Life, a lovely candid photo of Isinglass was printed. His breeder and owner, Colonel Harry McCalmont, had just died earlier that month.
