Before such shelters go around calling others lazy and irresponsible, they need to take a good hard look at -themselves-.

Even *if* they were worried about contaminating the show dogs by bringing sick shelter dogs why didn’t they bring pictures and descriptions of the dogs up for adoption and actively counsel people on adoption and what dog may be best for their lifestyle? At least pictures would be better than nothing!!

At least 2 of those 5 also actively assist in seizing animals as well; apparently to add to their own death tolls best I can tell. Don’t those Houston Animal Cops (Houston SPCA) do a wonderful job? The dogs they seized in their recent mass seizure had nails that were slightly too long. Of the birds seized, the death rate was about 5X what it had been with the original owner during the first week of HSPCA care and apparently they don’t want to tell how many have died during the second week…

Pictures, definitely! And the lack of any presence from BARC is absolutely shameful.
Dogs? NOT such a great idea. ALl three of these shelters have frequent- at least one or two each summer- parvo and distemper outbreaks.
