If you can, I have a suggestion for you: Check out this effort to help a no kill shelter in Iowa keep its doors open. Take a look at the shelter’s website. If it seems worthwhile to you, donate your $5 directly to the shelter.

Sent $100 via the shelter’s website. Would rather not give through Humane Watch, although they do perform a useful function.
Let’s do this thing!!!
On second thought, I also sent this comment to HumaneWatch. It will be interesting to see if they let it go through.
Thanks for spreading the word on this worthy cause. I’ve donated $100 directly to the shelter via their website. Can we look forward to matching donations from the many deep-pocketed corporate sponsors of the Center for Consumer Freedom? Now THEY could really make a difference pretty quickly.
I look forward to future postings on this dedicated group of animal rescuers.
While we are on the subject of rescues/shelters needing money, WarmFuzzy’s, a cat shelter in Drexel, MO needs $4,000. They have only raised $188. Here is their homepage where you can also see the news story on how their shelter was damaged: http://www.warmfuzzys.org/
