  1. Every one of these beautiful “strays” is wearing a collar and has an owner out there somewhere. If MAS followed the program set up in Washoe County, NV, they could have a return rate of over 60%, too. It takes a lot less effort to send a dog home than get him rehomed or saved by a rescue.

    1. I know, it’s so awful. I guess since they do not walk the dogs and hose the runs down with the dogs inside, they think it’s some sort of “kindness” to have them on grated flooring? The dogs in the adoption area appear to have regular floors from the photos I’ve seen but the strays all seem to be on these terrible grates. But – before anyone else says it – THE NEW SHELTER will cure all…

  2. Awww…these dogs break my heart, but the last one does especially…please someone help them if you can :(

  3. How did you get these pictures? Did a volunteer go in and take pictures? I love them all and desperately hope they get rescued.

  4. The middle one looks like she’d be a wonderful family pet. I hope that they all get a wonderful home. Please let us know . . . I think.

  5. The cow dog on top has my heart. I’m unable to have another full time dog but will foster. Who was the rescue who pulled dogs into new york? Email me at Reuning@hotmail.com . I’m willing to fill out a foster application asap.

    1. Liz,
Thank you for your offer to help. I think you are thinking of Morgana’s rescue (I don’t actually know the name). She is in NY. I suggest you contact the person at the shelter who coordinates rescues and ask him to place a DO NOT KILL on the dog (include the kennel number and photo) while you work on seeing if arrangements can be made. His name is Tracy Dunlap:
      tracy.dunlap@memphistn.gov
I would CC Matthew Pepper just in case Mr. Dunlap is not working today or doesn’t get a chance to check his e-mail first thing.

    2. Hey Liz:
We are Welcome Home Sanctuary, and our prime purpose is the ElderAnimals and Special Needs Animals…which of course doesn’t mean we ever exclude anyone if possible. Send me your email and I can send you a foster app. myspiritdogs@yahoo.com

  6. I’m hoping these dear ones are taken to a safe place soon – can those without hearts ever grow one?

  7. Not geographically near MAS, but would like to contribute financially to any that can get these three to safety.

  8. What are the chances of getting this little one to WA. If we can make it happen I’ll be more than happy to give her/him a furever home.

  9. I will donate to the finances involved in getting these three outa there.

3 dog night to 3 dog daylight…..oh pretty please.

  10. Me too Tabitha Covert – I want to help but I too am all the way here in WA – but could help with costs – hopefully not out of time yet for these three..

Please MAS you can do better for all the animals –

    1. That’s wonderful Mary. What part of WA are you from? I’m in the middle of getting some things situated with something that came up but I’ll contact those who need to be contacted about this baby. Thanks for wanting to help.

      1. I can help with a bit financially, but since I live in Michigan, can’t do anything else.

  11. Tri-Cities, WA (Kennewick, Pasco, Richland)

That would be great if these three could be taken to a safe place – I want to help.

  12. MAS and all you animal killers, you will fail and the animals and the love that people have for them will prevail.

And how will you like yourselves then….?

    1. MF: They don’t like themselves now or they wouldn’t have to dominate innocent and vulnerable creatures to feel good.

  13. OK: Here’s the BIG announcement: Chewie, aka RANGER, the Malinois that we pulled from MAS is starting his journey north on Sat., courtesy of the WONDERFUL FOLKS at PilotsnPaws! HOORAY! Now, if anyone wants to make tax-deductible contributions towards his neuter, that would REALLY help us out! It will cost upwards of $400 here in good old NYS! Also, please keep the petition going, we are almost there.

    1. That is good news, indeed! Thank you for taking this guy, who surely would have been killed at MAS. I sent my check to Shirley, so hope it can help a bit.

    2. $400 to neuter a 27 pound dog? ZOMG! Do your vets wear black bandannas over their faces instead of surgical masks? Why didn’t MAS neuter the dog? ugh…

      1. Yep – that’s NY fer ye. Prices are outrageous. That’s a “giver or take” etimate of course, as all vets do. I often pray that their balls are pure gold for that price. ANYWAY, there it is. I hope to get someone at the airfield to take LOADS of photos for PNP’s website and for this blog! AND to send to Wharton. BTW Ranger’s sister needs out too. Having the same troubles, sort of: not gaining weight, etc. These dogs are made for WORK, not languishing in a cage. IF anyone can help her, please get down to MAS – I believe she is in the adoptions area.
