You may already be familiar with the proposed legislation (SOPA in the House, PIPA in the Senate) that would, in effect, shut down this blog and a host of other internet sites if enacted. I want the internet to remain a place of free exchange of uncensored information and ideas. I want to continue my form of advocacy and I support the rights of others to do the same. Therefore I am joining in the blackout on January 18 from 8am to 8pm to protest these awful bills, to help raise awareness and get people to take action.

I WILL be on Twitter tomorrow, following and sharing news about the #SOPAstrike. The blog will be live again at 8pm. Please consider calling or writing your Senators and Representative in opposition to PIPA and SOPA.

So, apparently these idiots aren’t aware of the Bill of Rights? What about Freedom of Speech? What about Freedom of the Press? I guess I need to go buy a gun before they take that right away too…
We would still be free to speak and report online, as long as we speak and report exactly how they tell us to. Isn’t that clever?

Is Maddog the same as GoDaddy??? My domains are with Maddog, but once when I called, someone asked if I wanted the GoDaddy info – either they use the same call center, or they are the same entity. Just wondering (the GoDaddy boycott was referred to in the wordpress article).
I believe MadDog is a subsidiary of GoDaddy.
