It’s a Feather-frilled Dichen. They come in this lovely blue, a smashing pumpkin orange, and a stoplight red, all with the enchanting while highlights. They will soon be on sale at Walgreens, near the register, as the perfect stocking stuffer for children with allergies to dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals their parents just don’t want to take care of. Feather-frilled dichen don’t eat (or eliminate anything) during this, the end stage of their lives, making them a perfect pet. After 3 months, they just quietly fade away to nothingness, their bodies being broken down into minute molecules that nourish the Watery Mullifern in their enclosed container. Reservations being taken now for their arrival in stores soon.

Oh, that won’t be possible. The eco-like containers that each Feather-frilled Dichen and Watery Mullifern come in a sealed, using a proprietary process, and cannot be opened. To do so would void the warranty. Oh, and cause the immediate demise of said entities. So, no barrette decorations for you, you inhumane person, you!

On seeing that my answer, nudibranch, had already been provided by several people, I took the liberty of googling for some images. WOOOOOOWWWW!! I did not realize there are literally hundreds of varieties of this critter, each more stunning than the last. I’ll take some time this evening to sit slack-jawed in front of the teeny screen enjoying the Fotosearch gallery.
I DO like KateH’s answer best, though. And axolotls are intriguing too!
