Shelter Pet of the Day

Where will you be curling up to sleep this cold winter night?  If you are Dog #0026 at the Warner Robins Animal Shelter, take a look at your “bed”.

This little female mixed breed dog is described on Petfinder as “getting a cold in here”.  Is cold, dirty concrete the best bed Warner Robins can provide?

  1. I hope this sweet dog gets a home! He does look cold!

    Side note-adoption hours 10-4 and 69% percent death rate-pathetic!

  2. Am in touch with a couple of people trying to help us with pull/foster till we can get her onto a transport up north. Thanks! Paws crossed.

    1. Wonderful! This shelter really needs more rescue help. Very glad this little dog has a chance to make it out.

  3. I work with a Board member who pulls out of Greenvile, SC. If she has a transport going out of there, how far would that be and would someone be willing to drive her to meet the transport?

    1. We’ve had good luck getting local pull and transport help from Lori Love at
and Dee Allison (Star Bright Rescue) at 478-987-0131 or
Important to call the shelter directly as soon as possible to let them know you’re working on this dog. They have a very high kill rate and you have to assume all dogs are urgent. Distance from Warner Robins, GA to Greenville, SC is approx. 212 mi or about 4 hrs.

  4. FYI: Warner Robins is about 4 hours South of Greenville, SC. Athens, GA is about halfway between the two points, and there is a very active rescue community there.

  5. Thanks for the heads up….I will contact the above rescuers as well now that I’ve got other names. Paws crossed. Will have to wait till tomorrow to call shelter.

  6. Lorilove got sent back…anyone? Can you hook this request up with others, say in Athens as Valerie states?
