Naw, that is way cuter than my ex-husband and unlike my ex-husband undoubtedly has a function in the ecosphere.
bwa! I do agree it’s a very cute animal. I would kiss him.
Looks like an axolotl to me. Mind, I don’t know if I spelled that right!
I cheated and googled, won’t give it away but reading about it was fascinating. Thanks, YB!
Yes, a salamander’s legs are hanging out there.
its cute whatever it is
CUTE that is what it is called.PINK and CUTE ! ahhhhh
It’s totally an albino axolotl.
That’s actually a pretty good guess. I can see it!
It’s an axolotl, but the eyes don’t look pink, so probably not a true albino.
ANSWER – AVERT YOUR EYES IF YOU STILL WANT TO GUESS!
Several of you are right because as it turns out, this animal goes by many names. I first came across it as “Mexican Walking Fish” but in fact, it is apparently best known as an axolotl. It is a salamander, not a fish. I do not know the definitive answer as to whether the one in the photo is an albino.
Here is a tidbit from a website about axolotls:
And, good news for everyone who finds these creatures irresistably cute: they are commonly kept as pets. So run out and get one (or five) and let us know how your axolotl afficianado life develops.
By the way, if one of you smartypants has a suggestion for me for the next Name That Animal post, send me an e-mail:
I’m allergic to beer and can have only one once in a while. A couple of nights ago I enjoyed a beer after a hot day – that’s just what my dog looked like! Except he had more fur…
My friend owns one of these and they make awesome pets. Her guy begs for food and will let you touch him. I’m not allowed to feed him anymore because everytime he begs I give in!
My petting instinct is strong.
This may have sealed the deal for me on my desire to have an aquairium.
Doesn’t everybody know that this is the Happy Pink Frogish? They can be purchased in the Smiley dept in Walsmart! ;0)
