      1. All I can say is, I’m a longtime armchair Fortean, and I like Switek. This piece is really more about science journalism than any wild hypotheses about giant kraken.

        Mind, I wish it were true. Heck, maybe it is ;-)

  2. There was a time when you could leave your dog in your truck and not fear for his safety. Those times are long gone.

    I’ve seen people go up to cars with dogs in them and harass the dogs. I once saw a man appear to spray something from a can into a parked car’s window that was left cracked open for the dog inside…I went out to confront him, but by the time I got there, he had jumped back into his car and drove off. The dog seemed ok. I informed the owner of what I saw and he could detect a smell in the car, but wasn’t sure what it was…maybe deodorant or something? But if it had been pepper spray or something else noxious in a small space…
