Another Room, More Neglect at MAS
This clip shows a room of puppies and/or small breed adult dogs in stainless steel cages (hard to tell for certain due to the camera angle). Unlike the large dog kennels, the stainless steel cages do not have the auto waterers as far as I know so water must be provided by staff. If you … Continue reading Another Room, More Neglect at MAS
Another Room of Dogs Neglected at MAS
Security camera footage from the Memphis pound shows this room of dogs neglected from 2pm to 7pm on May 22, 2012. During the entire 5 hour period of footage, no dog in this room is walked, fed, or has his cage cleaned. And it's apparently stinky in the room, as evidenced by the second inmate … Continue reading Another Room of Dogs Neglected at MAS

Shelter Pet Advocates are the Protesters of Violence, Not the Offenders
Details are sketchy but it sounds as if a family may have surrendered a dog to the Surry Co pound in NC, found out the staff killed the dog, and expressed their outrage during a heated phone call to the pound. A 15 year old boy got on the line at some point and threatened … Continue reading Shelter Pet Advocates are the Protesters of Violence, Not the Offenders

Activists Upset about Pasco Co Pound
Pasco Co, FL opened a $3 million adoption center last year but pets who arrive at the pound don't go there. They go to Building C - a place with no windows, no air conditioning, and no insulation. Some animal activists say the dogs are not fed daily and end up covered in their own … Continue reading Activists Upset about Pasco Co Pound
Shelter Pets of the Day
The Petfinder page for the Estill Co pound in KY says it is "very rescue friendly" and begins its rescue guidelines as follows: you can rescue a animal when it is due to be euthanized, or adopt that pet if you really wish it. The pound has zero pets listed on its Petfinder site and … Continue reading Shelter Pets of the Day
